Registration process

Register with your basic information: username, password, email, age, gender, and sexual orientation. Alternatively, you can simply sign up with your Facebook account. You’ll then enter your location and upload a photo. Finally, answer a few questions about yourself, your education, your height, etc. All that’s left to do is receive a confirmation email and you’re in.

Profile set-up

Most of your profile is created during registration, with most of the info you’ve filled out being displayed on your profile. All that’s left to do is create a headline and fill out a description of yourself (minimum 100 characters). You’ll also be prompted to answer a couple fun, but optional, questions to be displayed on your profile like “what’s your ideal first date”. After you’re done with all the typing, upload your profile photo and you’re all set.

Notification settings

Easily customize which notifications you receive by going to ‘settings’ and choosing which notifications you’d like to see.

Messaging

Zoosk’s messaging system is just like any other online message system, allowing you to communicate freely with other members. You can also upgrade to ‘premium messaging’, which allows non-members to contact you and allows you to respond.

Message filters

You can specify the kind of person that is allowed to contact you with message filters like country, age, distance, photos, and more.

Daily matches

Members that match your criteria will show up on your home screen one at a time. Click on their photo to message them right away or use the ‘smile’ and ‘heart’ emoji to interact. Not interested? Click ‘next’ to see another match.

Member search

You can browse the member database using simple filters like age and location to pick and choose profiles that catch your eye. Click ‘advanced search’ to narrow your matches down with ethnicity, religion, and more specific qualities.

This feature allows you to browse various profiles with a high match potential, according to Zoosk’s Behavioral Matchmaking™. The best thing about Carousel is that it learns your moves and understands your preferences and suggests better matches each time.

Zoosk’s SmartPick™

Those who are looking for a more serious relationship will certainly appreciate Zoosk’s SmartPick™. Dedicated to providing a professional service and to help you find love online, Zoosk pays attention to your actions. Taking everything you do while on the site into consideration, SmartPick™ sends you suggestions of potential matches every day. If you and your match both click the ‘like’ button, you will be formally introduced.

Mobile App

Photo Verification

Zoosk’s patent-pending Photo Verification allows members to verify that their photos really look like them. After you choose to verify your photo, you’ll be prompted by Zoosk’s system to record and submit a “video selfie”, basically a video that captures your face from several different angles. Moderators for the site will then compare the video with your photo, and if you’re approved, you’ll get a badge added to your profile. Don’t worry about that “video selfie”, it’ll stay private so no one else will see it. Report & block

See an inappropriate image or suspect a fake profile? Look for the 3 little dots in the bottom right-hand corner of someone’s profile and you can report & block them at the same time.
