Registration process

Get a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and prepare to bare your soul. The registration process for Silver Singles requires more than just creating a username and entering your basic information. This registration process is also where the advanced dating algorithm kicks off. By answering a flurry of multiple-choice questions about your personal interests, habits, and desires, the algorithm will be able to match you with compatible singles. Profile set-up

Most of your profile is created during registration. All that’s left to do is create a headline and fill out a description of yourself to showcase who you are.

We experienced an issue during the “Location” section. It asks you to input your city/zip code, and then pinpoints your location on a map, before asking how far you are willing to travel for a date. The problem is, it didn’t recognise any Australian cities. In the end, we settled on “Sydney, Florida, USA”.

The good news is that you can change your address once you have joined and it will let you choose Australia at this point. The bad news is that there don’t seem to be many Australian-based users.

Notification settings

In order to customise your notification settings, go to ‘account’ and then ‘notifications’ to customise which alerts you receive.

Messaging

SilverSingle’s messaging system is just like any other online message system, allowing you to communicate freely with other members with a simple type & send platform. Whenever you have a new message, a notification will pop up on the top of the dating website or app’s interface.

Message filters

You can specify the kind of person that is allowed to contact you with message filters like country, age, distance, photos, and more.
